Our delivery with teaching option is for those clients who would like to build skills and experience while participating as part of the delivery team. This service is especially valuable for the new boat owner, and the sailor looking to take their skills to the next level. Our licensed Captains are also US SAILING Certified Instructors. We use our teaching expertise to assess your skills and learning goals. Then we blend ingredients from the Cruising, Coastal Navigation, and Passage Making instructional texts, along with practical advice from our years of experience, to develop a personalized curriculum. The result is a completely customized learning experience. The combination of instruction and participation gives our clients the skills and confidence they seek. Compass variation & deviation, Aids to Navigation, & electronics. Using a navigation log, inshore pilotage, back bearings, & ranges. Interpret and integrate weather information. Navigational strategies: upwind or upcurrent arrival; anticipating leeway; favored tack; reaching, not running; and dawn arrival. Precautions for fog; buoy hopping, deliberate offset, & visibility circles.
