Scheduling is a challenge in the marine business because so many parts are non-stock, special order, or custom made. Vendors and service professionals have schedules to be considered. Additionally, boats often suprise us with issues not forseen when doing estimate or survey work. Doing a first class job takes time and careful consideration. In order to provide the best service to our yard and dockside customers, the following policies are effective January 1, 2014:
Scheduled Work: a deposit of $300.00 USD or 10% the work estimate, whichever is greater, is due to guarantee a yard or dockside work reservation. The deposit is non-refundable within two weeks of the scheduled start date. Reservations are highly recommended, we are busy!
Drop in customers will be served on a time available basis. We will do our best to get your project done quickly, while honoring our commitment to customers with guaranteed reservations.
Guaranteed completion dates may not be given unless work is scheduled.
Change orders on any job will require re-evaluation of the original work completion date. We will do our best to stay on the original schedule, but can not guarantee it when the job changes.
100% of parts costs are due at the time of each parts order.
Payment in full is due upon reciept of an invoice. We do not offer credit terms.
Per marine insurance industry SOP, Restless Sailor does not bill insurance companies. All financial obligations are the responsibility of the yacht owner.
Prices are quoted including a 3% discount for cash and check payments.
Capt. Joe is happy to help with evaluating projects, boats for sale, damage repair, and upgrades. A quick question is never a problem. If the issue at hand becomes time consuming, the customer will be asked if they would like to continue on a consulting basis.
The consulting fee is $75 per hour, billed in half hour increments.
Large projects, or project management, may be negotiated for a fixed fee.
Reports for insurance companies, yacht evaluations, or project planning are available as a consulting service.
We all have emergencies from time to time on our boats, its part of boating! Restless Sailor will do its best to accomodate emergency and urgent service needs of our customers.
Emergency customers will be served on a first come, first served basis, while respecting the deadlines of previously scheduled customers.
Emergency after hours, or Saturday service, will be billed at 1.5x the regular labor rate.
Emergency service is offered on an as available basis, we do not guarantee availability of our personnel.
